Our Client’s Challenge
The renovation of Four Winds Field at Coveleski Stadium was a detailing project that required extreme accuracy and coordination. As a live sports facility, any structural modifications had to be executed with minimal disruption while preserving the stadium’s architectural intent. The project involved complex geometry with tiered seating arrangements, canopies, and miscellaneous steel components that demanded precise integration with existing structures. Additionally, the client required a quick turnaround to meet the upcoming baseball season schedule, making time and accuracy equally critical.
Our Approach And Solution
Nexont Engineering utilized SDS2 to develop a highly accurate 3D model of the stadium’s renovation scope. Our detailing team meticulously coordinated with the original structure, ensuring that all new steel components—seating frames, stairs, canopies, and miscellaneous elements—were aligned without clashes. Special focus was given to designing and detailing critical connections that could handle high live loads typical of stadium facilities. To maintain speed, we implemented phased detailing and internal fast-track review cycles, backed by thorough quality checks. Regular coordination with the fabricator and engineering team enabled proactive adjustments and kept the project aligned with both budget and schedule.
